FAQS

How much are the 'Cast At Location' charges?

Our charges for 'cast at location' will vary, as our workshop is based in London, Notting Hill. We usually say a 200 mile radius from London would have a charge of £295. Anything outside of the 200 mile London radius will be subject to different fees.

You can give us a call or email for a more precise cost for the cast at location service if it falls outside of the 200 mile London radius. We are more than happy to help.

Can you cast at any location?

Within reason, yes! We have cast up mountains, along beaches and in beautiful countryside settings. The furthest we have gone is Italy. Although most of our requests are done in the U.K.

Can I provide my own sand for sand casting ?

Yes, absolutely! This service is also free of charge. Just send us in around half a cup of sand from your special location. Try and make sure its just sand your scooping up and not twigs and stones.

I want my wedding rings cast in sand from a special beach but cannot send in the sand, do you have any ?

Yes I have travelled around a lot of the U.K and have done many 'cast in place' wedding and engagement rings. We have also collated quite a collection of sands from different areas of the U.K, from Cornwall, the south coast, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Please contact us and we will tell you if we have a particular sand that you are looking for. If we have the sand from that location we will offer you the service for free and it will be cast in our workshop in Notting Hill, London.

What styles of cast rings can I have ?

Sand casting produces a very organic texture that looks and feels natural. Our techniques and processes also allow us to make smooth, mirror like looking rings. We have options for lots of different ring styles and are not limited in anyway.

What Sand do you have ?

We have many sand locations available, give us a telephone call or email and we can see if we have a particular sand in stock.

I have received my rings and they don't quite fit perfectly. Can I adjust these?

Yes of course, send us back the rings, re measure your size and let us know what size you would like. We offer this service free of charge.

Is all of your jewellery carved in nature?

Yes! All of our jewellery is made from a process called lost wax carving. The best bit about this process is that the wax models can be made outside of the workshop. You will find in the description of each of our jewellery where the wax models were made. Our jewellery is all about bringing the story and experience of nature to you in the form of a timeless piece, and this process best capitulates that.

Do you cut your own opals?

Yes indeed! We buy parcels of rough opal direct from several miners in Australia, each opal is hand carved by myself. Opal is formed over millions of years and forms many unusual shapes. I don't believe in changing this, so I carve and polish the stone exactly how nature has made it. You will find most of our opals are of a natural freeform shape, this adds to the uniqueness of your jewellery, and resonates well with the 'Coastal' collection.

What collections do you do?

We offer two collections, Coastal and Mountain. The Coastal collection is wax carved on the cliffs around the U.K, with great emphasis on opals to reflect the green/blue ocean pools. The Mountain collection forms jewellery that resonates with rock formations in the mountains, and of course all of the wax carvings are made in the mountains! Each piece is made in a unique area in the mountains or coastal areas, which is described in the description of the piece listed.
